Purpose:

To enhance the current online learning environment, we now introduce Kahoot to you, which is a perfect example of gamification. This convenient and flexible online quiz designing tool helps educators interact with their students more and allows students to share their information related to prior knowledge. Kahoot also has a database that includes thousands of questions to help new users to start their journey.

Best Applied Environment:

Kahoot is friendly to all age groups, especially young learners can bring learning environments to life. Educators can add sound, images and videos to every question, and these visual arts can enhance learners’ responses. In speaking of learning environments, Kahoot can adapt both face-to-face and online classes. However, educators and learners must use computers and smartphones to participate, and Kahoot can not be accessed without an internet connection.

How does Kahoot Support Teaching and Learning:

Kahoot helps educators and learners design their individual formative and summative assessments. On the one hand, Kahoot provides instant feedback from the learners by taking in-class designed quizzes and puzzles, making it easy for educators to track students’ learning needs. On the other hand, Kahoot can also produce online summative assessments, and these assessments are often combined with all sorts of questions, including multiple-choice, puzzles and short answers. The results come with scores and places that make the questions highly compatible and valid. Learners can showcase and share their performance, and educators can keep the records in the database of Kahoot.

Factors of Implementing:

1. Kahoot requires each participant to have a reliable device and internet connection. It works well within online learning environments.

2. Kahoot is easy to access and friendly to new users. The website has clear navigation, which guides users through the question designing process. Kahoot provides a question bank for users who do not have sufficient resources to build new questions.

3. The price is friendly, and the primary account is free to public users, but only 10 participants can answer each question. Five dollars per month will upgrade your account into a Plus account, which can host up to 100 participants.

4. Kahoot provides a platform for educators and learners to interact by answering the questions. The learner can also design their questions to share with others, and everyone in the classroom can help build the learning environment.

5. Users need to log in with their accounts with their usernames and passwords. The questions will not be added to the question bank unless the users are sharing. The privacy and security of users are ensured by the platform Kahoot.
